After being involved in a crossing accident or a pedestrian fatality, train crews may have an interaction with an uninformed local police officer before an NS Supervisor or Special Agent arrives. There have been instances in the past of local police officers trying to require the train crew to provide them with their state issued drivers license. You are NOT required to provide your drivers license. In such situations, only the following information will be required to give to the local police:

• Engineer / Conductor certification card

• Name

• Title (Craft)

• Date of Birth

• Satement

• Work Address 1400 Norfolk Southern Drive Irondale, AL)

• Work Phone Number (Supervisors Number)
